I'll be wearing a Black T shirt with POI embroidered on the front and back in Red Yellow and orange. I'll also have a triangular flag sticking up in the air for you to notice.

Let's get together and make some poi spin.
I'll teach you what I know and lead you to some resources for additional learning and tools of the trade. Bring your skills and teach us what you know so we can all get better and see where this adventure takes us.

  • I'll provide you with information about the history and beginning of this art form. I'll also teach some basic poi techniques and we'll delve into some more advanced spinning as we grow.

[b]Our first meeting is February 4th, 2008. We will organize our agenda and decide where we want this group to go. Bring your poi if you have them though, (training poi are recommended especially for this first Meetup). You never know when we'll break them out! If you do not yet have poi, please contact me. I will let you know where to find them or how to make beginner poi yourself before our meeting. The location for future meetings will be in a more suitable location.

  • Please bring $10 to cover costs associated with administering our facility and other incidental expenses.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that isn't too loose. It can get caught in your cords but also make sure it does not restrict your movement. Bring socks as shoes are not allowed on the Floor.

  • If you have concerns for your eyes or any other part of your body please bring protective gear. Training poi are pretty soft but you never know where they will land.

  • Prepare to spend at least an hour with the group. It's possible that we may get to talking and end up getting coffee too.

  • If you have a laptop we could use for that evening we'd appreciate it. I can show you a few videos so you can see some expert spinners performing their craft. If no one has a laptop to bring I'll see if my dear husband is able to lend his to us.

That's it! We'll see you February 4th at 7pm

This week I'll be bringing some tiki music to get our groove on. My son will be here so if you have a toddler you just can't leave to go play, bring him or her. Is there any thing specific anyone would like to work on?
